In collaboration with RWE Renewables, we are operating the Flight Test Centre in Ireland near Bangor Erris, Mayo County. We are selecting a multitalented and hands-on intern to join our Operations team in Bangor Erris. The team is responsible for ensuring the running of the R&D test site, executing flight tests, repair and maintenance of hardware and reporting of test results. 
What you will be doing 
You will have a challenging internship learning the ins and outs of Kitepower’s airborne wind energy system which will complement your academic knowledge and gain valuable work experience.

• Work on an exciting project assigned specifically to you with supervision from our engineers and operations team
• Participate in flight tests in the field
• Pre-flight preparations
• Observation of the kite flying and gathering feedback for the engineering team
• Post-flight maintenance of the kite systems
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on technical ad-hoc tasks
• Input on streamlining daily operations through observation, feedback, process recommendations
• Miscellaneous tasks of running the test site, ensuring the site functions smoothly
  
  

About you
You ideally have the following qualities: 

• Student in a technical discipline (technician, mechanical, aerospace, electrical)
• Multidisciplinary curiosity
• Good communication and organization skills 
• Fluent written/spoken English 
• Good observation skills and ability to give reliable feedback
• Good practical technical understanding
• Experience in 3D design and printing is welcome 
• Outdoor enthusiast, especially about wind sports
• Not afraid to get your hands dirty
