Founded as a spin-out of Delft University of Technology, we are developing our first commercial system to power farms, construction sites and communities with renewable airborne wind energy.

Your profile
We are looking for an intern to join our Operations team in Delft. Our team makes sure that our R&D site in Ireland runs smoothly and that all daily activities during testing in the Netherlands are well organised. During this internship, you will learn how an airborne wind energy system works in real testing environments and gain experience that complements what you study. You will also work with our Hardware team, who will give you a focused engineering assignment that can serve as your internship project or assessment.
What you will be doing
- Participate in flight tests in the field
- This ranges from pre-flight preparations, launch, landing, observation of the kite flying, and post-flight maintenance of the kite systems.
- Investigate operational sites in the Netherlands and help optimize processes
- Collaboration with the Hardware team on technical ad-hoc tasks or a larger project
- Plan logistics for Kitepower projects deployment (including abroad)
- Investigate the market for alternative applications of kite technology
- Input on streamlining daily operations through observation, feedback, process recommendations
You will have a challenging internship in renewable energy to apply your academic knowledge and gain valuable working experience.
About you
You ideally have the following qualities:- Background in a practical technical field, such as mechanics, engineering, or applied sciences. ( HBO or University)
- Multidisciplinary curiosity
- Good communication and organization skills
- Fluent written/spoken English
- Good observation skills and ability to give reliable feedback
- Good practical technical understanding
- Experience in programming in Python is a plus
- Drivers license
- Outdoor enthusiast, particularly about wind sports
- Not afraid to get your hands dirty
